The City of Alderworth
« on: December 28, 2019, 08:11:23 PM »

The City of Alderworth has changed over the tralirs from a simple little village in 18 Tralirs to a large city that is build up its walls, its gates, and towers. It earned its nickname the Citadel as no barbaric attack has ever succeeded to penetrate the city thick walls or impressive military form known as the Alderworth Guards. The city merges perfectly into the countryside from the green fields of the Giant Armadillo Valley and into the dangerous Barren Tips mountains to the north. The city has about 80% of the population humans and when you go to the more expensive areas you will find Ithiris that makes up the remaining 20% of the city population. The city is ruled by a wise and strong viscountess named Euphrasia Constance Aldithley, many know her the Mage of Alderworth, but few know that she is actually not a Mage but a Warlock, a forbidden class in the realm of Exonia.

It is worth mentioning that in 125 Tralirs, Alderworth upgrades were complete. There were higher and thicker walls, better defenses, but the infrastructure of the city roads, waterlines that traveled by an old roman transportation system throughout the city and a sewer that was functional and worked properly to keep health optimal.

Government

Alderworth is an Aristocracy with a Viscountess as head of state and government, and the Aegis Council as an advisory role towards the Viscountess. Alderworth main strength is their military might, not in numbers but their training methods makes them, even in small numbers, a worthy opponent. Alderworth has two other great factors, it controls most of Barren Tips mines and thus the gem, mineral and coal stocks. And Alderworth lays in a strong trading location that is connected to many roads.

Traditionally the Viscountess stays out of the city affairs of law and order, of creating quest or interfering with the military duties. This was not always so before Viscountess Aldithley came to power, the Viscount was the primary power that dictated what happened in Alderworth. Viscountess Aldithley concluded after the Barren Skervia Invasion that the city was not working efficiently and so Aegis Council was created and the Grandmaster of Alderworth Guards was now in charge of the military forces.

Of course, the Viscountess can use the Act of Iron Fist to intervene with either the Aegis Council or the Alderworth Guards. This act is to overrule the current command body and all Alderworth Guards and guilds members will obey this act if rejected the person can be seen as a traitor. This act has never been put into action thus far.

Locations

The city is cut in four pieces, to the north you will find the more fancy, noble houses with expensive clothing, trades, and good positions. This district is known to the people as the North Creolluc, here is where the city ruling takes place. To the east, you will find Tresp east, together with Drirrilf Hill that lays in the south functions primary as the housing of the citizen of Alderworth. Drirrilf Hill also functions as the main farmers' land that provides the city with food and lumber. To the west, you will find Dreok Cross, the entrance to a large merchant and trade area where the industry is in its flourishing moment.

North Creolluc
The North Creolluc district lays in the north of Alderworth, an area that is defined by its riches of great houses, art, and people that are most of the time in good positions. These positions are provided by places such as Meadows Ridge Academy the Marblevale Academy and Murbert Estate the HQ of the Brightlanders. Some say that the riches of clothing, exotic fruits and other wares are all thanks to the input and effort of the Brightlanders Guild. Towards Barren Tips, you will find a large mansion, a place called Mithril Bastion. Mithril Bastion is the home of the Viscountess and her or his family and they are guarded by the men and women of the Order of Tyr. In front of the house stands a large statue of the god Fenrir, rumor has it that Fenrir protects Alderworth in time of danger, but it was never proven. Last but not least you will find the Alderworth Guards Central (AGC), the main location where you will find adventurers getting their quest.

Tresp East
The district of Tresp East is where most of the middle-class citizen of Alderworth lives, there are markets, shops, and taverns in the area. But Tresp is recognizable as the more district set in stone, you won't find much green here in comparison with the other districts. Thought Tresp is popular for sorcerers to do their shopping as Marblevale sponsors some of the shops in this district and Sunbrawlers are often found in the underground pit fights that are actually illegal in Alderworth, but big cash can be won here...if you manage to get through it.

Drirrilf Hill
While it doesn't look like it from the outside, Drirrilf Hill is the poorest district of Alderworth and houses the unlucky people that can't get into a guild or worse removed from a guild due to their behavior or lack of improvement. Alderworth Guards patrol the area quite often, drunkards and illegal gamble or black markets are most of the time spotted and dealt with. But they won't find the Ashenvale Nest, the home and hidden place of the Shadowshapers, people in Alderworth know about them, most rogues come from them. They consider themselves as the noble thieves or thief with honor.

Dreok Cross
And the last district, a location that lays in the west and is the main entrance to the Giant Armadillo Valley. The Dreok Cross is used for many purposes, trade, training, guarding and fighting off creatures. You will find that most people will go to this district when entering the city. It is then nothing but normal to have the Alderworth Guards HQ here, the Oakfold Garde. A fortress that lays connected to the main wall of the west gate. On the other side, you will find the Sunbrawlers main HQ and training ground, the Highfoot Stockade. But Dreok Cross is known for its music, for its parties and of course, these can be found at Tunder's Tavern owned by the Lolokosh Guild.

One thing that needs to be changed perhaps will be either on the main forum page, where the header of Giant Armadillo Valley is described as being "connected to the west of Drirrilf Hill. It connects the city of Alderworth to the world of Exonia," or in the description above, where Dreok Cross is described as "the last district, a location that lays in the west and is the main entrance to the Giant Armadillo Valley."
