Class DetailsThe fighter is a warrior who places themselves in harm's way to protect their allies. Sword in hand and shield held steady, the fighter shrugs off devastating attacks and retaliates with vengeance. Some fighters feel drawn to use their training as adventurers. The dungeon delving, monster-slaying, and other dangerous work common among adventurers is second nature for a fighter, not all that different from the life he or she left behind. There are greater risks, perhaps, but also much greater rewards. For Exonia, they are found mostly in fight related guilds such as Sunbrawlers in Alderworth.
Creating FighterWithin the reach of creating your character, the
Sunbrawlers Guild is the best approach to create your character. The guild might be relatively young, but they train the best soldiers that even join the guards of the city itself. Sunbrawlers is so far only known in Alderworth, but they do seek to expand their territory into the human kingdoms to the west.
To become a fighter is to train every single day, learn from practical situations such as training, duals, tournaments, patrols and of course adventures. For a fighter is the only way to move up in rank, by showing what you can do. No big words, but acts and while Sunbrawlers is not very big, this idealism is found in most fighter guilds throughout Exonia. To keep in mind is that fighters are drawn to big challenges, but keep your head in the game as some challenges might be too big for you and its quite common that fighters with big ego find death sooner then wiser fighters.
A fighter, same as most classes, begins at Bronze level and your character requires to go through a series of quests to upgrade your level or in Exonia your rank. You can start your training in Alderworth by joining the
Sunbrawlers Guild and pass their test in the handle of weapons and fighting. Keep in mind that magic users or sensitives are usually not accepted into this guild, but the Master of Arms can make an exception (discus with staff). After this, your training begins at Highfoot Stockade grounds. You will learn by doing, so you are allowed after one Tralirs to travel for quest and earn experience.
The equipment for a fighter is usually a sword, ax, shield, bow, spear and some smaller weaponry like a slinger and knives. Keep in mind that you got two hands, so it's one weapon, one defense weapon, and a small weapon. Not all weapons! The armor is medium or heavy and got the Sunbrawlers logo on the right side of the chest. You will not be able to use a staff or mace as this is not taught to you at the Sunbrawlers Guild.
A fighter can use cantraps as this more manipulates the environment magic then use it. Spells are a no-go for this class. Again the staff can be approached for any character ideas.
Additional informationIf you choose to go on the independent path, which is a possibility, you require to give a rough idea and DM the staff about it. The staff can give you alternative ideas to maybe edit it to fit more to our setting. It is rare, but a staff member can reject your character as it is not meeting our standards of what we believe is Exonia.
